5 million new healthcare jobs will flood the economy between 2012 and 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Health Information Technicians jobs (HIT) will be a huge part of this job wave. The U.S. expects above-average HIT growth in the coming years. Medical coder, healthcare information manager, and medical secretary positions will all see an increase over the next decade.
